A equipe Atlantic vence o NHL All-Star Game 7-5
Making the final 7-5 for the Atlantic, in a final that started as a nap and turned into a sloppy mess towards the end, while only one team seemed particularly keen to be there. Still, Matthew Tkachuk was the big star and kept fans at home happy, while Dylan Larkin stole part of the show.
Congratulations to Atlantic for showing a little pride, which was underscored by a very entertaining win over Metro. Overall, it wasn't great, but there are worse ways for a hockey fan to spend an afternoon. Thanks everyone and remember to delete your mups.

Matthew Tkachuk and the Atlântico team dominated
We're halfway through the championship game and... uh, you didn't miss much. It's 3-0 to Atlântico, and another goal from Matthew Tkachuk needs to be hit the post. It wasn't a boring game as the odds just don't add up. Hey, maybe they're just chilling things out to prepare us for the big dramatic finale.
Dylan Larkin needed a goal in that game to secure his NHL All-Star Game Selke Trophy, and there it is. I really liked how hard he played this afternoon. I also really liked how Kirill Kaprizov played this afternoon. It's 3-0 in the first half.

Atlantic team leads 1-0
This Fall Out Boy/Zamboni break lasted just over half an hour. Sounds pretty reasonable. Whoever wins will be the first; Central is 0-2 in the ASG Finals and Atlantic is 0-3. Hey, Matthew Tkachuk just scored again. 1-0 Atlantic. Just give him the MVP.

A for effort
Kudos to Dylan Larkin of the Atlantic Division/Red Wings, who has perhaps pushed harder than anyone in the history of the event. He checked the guys, kept his gap, the whole thing. What a great piece. Also, I think I saw Andrei Svechnikov in a board fight below his own goal line. Someone tell these guys not to try too hard. "No doubt to all the kids excited to see you," I say.

Atlantic team wins 10-6
Make Atlantic's final 10-6 as they run away at the end of a back-and-forth game that was much more fun than the first. The ending is Tkachuks and friends vs. Central, after a short break to listen to a band that was popular eight years ago.

Hat-trick para Matthew Tkachuk
Matthew Tkachuk had just one wide escape and went straight to the net with the classic "point-blank slap shot" that all goalkeepers love. It worked and Atlatnic went up 8 to 6 in the last minutes.

All tied 6-6
Five minutes before the end, we are tied at 6:6. It was basically the Ovie Crosby show on one side and Matthew Tkachuk and various brothers on the other. Pretty much how you would create it if you were the NHL's head of marketing.

90 seconds of fun
In the last 90 seconds we scored another Sidney Crosby goal from Alex Ovechkin, then one from Ovechkin. They are best friends now. Metro is up 6-4 and these guys are doing their best to save another NHL game. Maybe that motivates the Central crowd to try a little in the final.

Spoilsport
We were late because the mascots threw confetti and it fell onto the ice, so a rink worker has to pick it all up. Yes definitely. Have you ever tried to catch confetti? Have you ever tried to do that with thousands of people waiting for you? I think we found our all-star MVP.

Atlantic 4, Metro 3 with a half ahead
We reached the Metro vs. Atlantic and it was... fun? I think I'm enjoying this. Star power shone through, there were some cool moments, and the level of competition is as high as one might reasonably expect, i.e. not high, but not zero either.

interesting lineups
The Atlantic ejects Sasha Barkov with Matthew Tkachuk and Brady Tkachuk. They are brothers! Two of the games for the Panthers. For Metro, it's Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin and Adam Fox. Those first two guys have a history together. Not as much as the Tkachuks, but close enough.

Great weekend for San Jose Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson
If anyone does well this weekend, it's Erik Karlsson. He was always a funny and interesting guy, capable of... I don't know how a normal person feels? He has a real tone of voice and interesting body language. What a concept. Moments of him in front of the camera were fond memories. In addition to his previously unrealistic, Norris-worthy play, I'm glad he's back.
And of course he's done for today after losing to Pacific in the first round. I'm happy for him, but he's also a great example of someone who should be "drafted" for the next game, as Sean suggested.

Here is a random suggestion
In the two semi-finals, let the winning team "draw" one or two players from the losing team. It would be fun to see players get together and decide who to take. And, most importantly, it would ensure that key figures like McDavid were in the spotlight for as long as possible in the afternoon, even if his team lost early.

Center wins 6-4
Pacific cut it to 5:4 before Keller scored again to make it 6:4. This is our finale to a reasonably entertaining prelude. Metro and Atlantic are next in line after a long period of interviews and awkward delays.

seem alive
OK, so we've determined that players will block shots, play defense, skate hard, or try. Alright, it's an afternoon spectacle in the middle of a busy season and they all come down to three hours of sleep. But here's a little suggestion: could we ask them to respond to the goals? Acknowledge it happened instead of ducking your head in embarrassment and avoiding eye contact like you've just met a colleague after leaving an adult bookstore?

Central goalkeeper Juuse Saros has been here before
We should have known central goalkeeper Juuse Saros for the task. If you need a man used to playing behind a team that doesn't care about defense, he's your man, because that's the role of the Predators. Only Connor Hellebuyck, who played for Central in the first half, has shot more and made more saves this season.

The central team leads by three goals
As we all predicted, Clayton Keller took over. Central won 5-2 with five minutes to go. Will the Pacific drag their goalkeeper to try to tie him up? Sure, why not, let's do it.
